Cognitive FX

I've been suffering from post concussion syndrome for 7 years and when I came across Cognitive FX, I felt like my prayers had been answered. They know what they are talking about and the science backs it all up. I attended their 2 week Epic treatment and the entire time I felt safe, heard, and valued. The people there are truly the nicest individuals I have ever meet and were so encouraging throughout my time there. I have seen so much improvement with my recovery and have Cognitive FX to thank.

Cognitive FX is an incredible place filled with knowledgeable and caring clinicians. My husband received two weeks of treatment under Dr. Fong's care and the results have been nothing short of life changing. We looked to Cognitive FX for answers no other health care provider was able to give us and the team here provided a level of excellence that we are incredibly grateful for. The entire team is extremely compassionate and expertly skilled, and I am so thankful we were able to travel to their facility and receive much needed treatment for post-Covid dysautonomia. Thank you to the entire team that took such wonderful care of my husband.

Cognitive FX is the absolute best! All of the staff and therapists are extremely kind, caring, and truly want the best for you. They are always so encouraging and won’t hesitate to remind you that you need to take those mindful breaks ;) I don’t know where I would be without everyone at CFX, especially Toshi. Toshi is the best and is always there for you, helping you make progress in your recovery. No matter how hard my sessions are, Toshi can always make me laugh. I’m so grateful I found CFX and staff/therapists who understand brain injuries and do everything they can possible to help without dismissing you or your symptoms. I highly recommend CFX!! Including travel expenses I spent $15,000 for 5 days of evaluation and therapy at Cognitive Fx during the summer of 2023 for my traumatic brain injury with few positive benefits. Approximately 4 months after the cognitive Fx evaluation and therapy I was evaluated and treated for two days by Dr. Michael Collins and his team at UPMC in Pittsburg. That is where I received much better care and made much more progress than at Cognitive Fx. The evaluation and treatment at UPMC by Dr Collins and his team and the vestibular exercises they mapped out for me to do at home were much more “spot on” to my individual condition and needs than the more generalized and less individualized treatment and exercises at cognitive fx. Don’t be concerned that Dr Collins and his team of seasoned TBI/concussion experts do not use a fMRI to evaluate you like cognitive fx does: Dr Collins and his UPMC team were so much better at assessing and treating my TBI it was like night and day. And they were also only a fraction of the cost of cognitive fx and their fees were nearly all paid for by insurance. Dr Collins was also amazingly accessible and personable and his rntire team was top notch in every way. He is the “go to doc” for professional athletes and NASCAR drivers when they have brain injuries but it has not gone to his head and he truly is accessible and a good listener. I wish I had gotten this world class help for my concussion at Cognitive Fx but I did not but am glad I discovered Dr Collins and his team at UPMC and was able to get it there.

I will always have Cognitive FX at the top of my list of things i’m grateful for. They have the most incredible, kind, intelligent staff who make this process so comfortable and they are with you every step of the way! You can tell they truly care about you and do everything they can to help you. I got diagnosed with Long Covid 1.5 years ago and it turned my entire life upside down. It took away my ability to work, drive, and to do most of my hobbies that I loved. I had lost all hope after seeing over 20 different specialists and was even told by the doctor who is head of a ER that I will probably not be able to find a doctor any time soon that will be able to help me because it’s such a new thing. Cognitive FX was confident that they could help me and they did just that! I’m doing things I haven’t done since before the infection and have noticed significant changes in my symptoms! It takes a lot of time and effort in this healing process but it’s so worth it and is so exciting to see how I progress each day! Long Covid is such a new and scary thing, I wish I could tell everyone who has it to come here because they are the answer! Also a huge shout out to Dr. Spangler! She has changed my life and is the most amazing doctor who is so knowledgeable and has really helped me get my life back!

In an accident 21 years ago, my head was injured severely, along with my pelvis. I wasn't given concussion treatment or told what symptoms to expect, so when symptoms progressed, I didn't know they were from the concussion! When things got worse, years later, pieces came together, and I found Cognitive FX. During my 2 weeks of treatment, I got support with both cognitive and physical symptoms, including my pelvic injuries(!). They did extensive diagnostic work and I got support with things I didn't know were related to the injuries, like pelvic floor work & swallowing. Now, 7 weeks out, doing daily at-home exercises, I am noticing significant improvements. Sensitivity to light/heat/sound is better. My memory is keener. My vision, core strength, balance and posture are better. I am engaging my work with a sense of artistry. It's easier to study & retain. I feel generally well and happy, instead of on edge and distressed. Thank you, CFX!
